Two Credit Pools: Standard vs. InsightX+

Your account has two separate credit balances, and which one pays for a given email determines what kind of check it receives.

Standard credits

Cover everything except InsightX+'s enhanced verification:

  • Checking the email is formatted correctly
  • Checking the domain can receive email
  • Disposable-address detection
  • Role-based and gibberish pattern detection
  • Parked-domain detection

A Standard-credit check never connects to the recipient's mail server directly - it's fast and doesn't attempt this deeper verification.

InsightX+ credits

Include everything Standard does, plus a real, live connection to the recipient's mail server. InsightX+ is the only path that can:

  • Confirm an address genuinely exists (a true Valid result, not just "nothing looked wrong")
  • Detect Catch-All (Risky) domains
  • Detect Greylisted (Temporary), Tarpitted (Risky), and Mailbox Full (Temporary) responses

Which pool pays, by default

  • Uploading a list under Standard verification spends Standard credits only.
  • Uploading a list under InsightX+ verification spends InsightX+ credits and performs this enhanced verification on every email.
  • The developer API's POST /v1/verify endpoint always spends InsightX+ credits - it's designed for real-time, single-address verification where the deeper check is the point.
  • Re-verifying eligible results from a Standard job spends InsightX+ credits, one per email re-checked.
