MailInsightX API

A REST API for programmatic email verification.

All responses are JSON. All requests that accept a body expect Content-Type: application/json.

Who can use it

API access requires a paid plan (Starter, Business, or Enterprise) - it's not available on the Free plan. If you're building an integration and don't have a key yet, start with Authentication to get one from your dashboard.

What it can do

The API is scoped to verification only - checking a single email address, and reading your own account's balance and usage history. It does not expose account management, billing, or any dashboard/admin functionality; those stay behind the regular authenticated dashboard session.

GET /v1/ping	Health check
GET /v1/balance	Your account's current credit balance
GET /v1/usage	Verification usage history for the calling API key
POST /v1/verify	Verify a single email address

Before you make your first request

1. Get an API key from your dashboard.
2. Review the rate limits - they're tighter than you might expect for a first integration.
3. Review the error reference, especially the note on why auth failures return 404 instead of 401/403 - this is intentional, not a bug you're hitting.
